Brenda Tolbert is in the business of transformation. As Training Coordinator and one of Guide Book Publishing’s trainers, she is the primary mentor for our national sales force. Brenda specializes in taking “rookie” Account Executives and turning them into confident, high-performing professionals who consistently exceed their goals. To Brenda, success isn’t just about a number—it’s about seeing a rep earn “Sales Person of the Month” or watching them grow into a leadership role themselves.
Brenda’s training philosophy is built on the “GBP Gold Standard”: absolute honesty, active listening, and a commitment to never making a promise we can’t keep. She prepares our reps for the intense 10-day “sprints” in the field by teaching them the power of organization and mindset. “I tell my reps to plant those seeds and never give up,” Brenda says. “A slow Monday is just an opportunity to turn the week around with persistence and a positive plan.”
Beyond the sales pitch, Brenda ensures every new hire feels like part of the GBP family from day one. By maintaining constant communication before training even begins, she bridges the gap between the home office and the field. She is also a champion of our new AI-assisted research tools, showing reps how modern technology can save them time and help them focus on what matters: the advertiser.
When she isn’t in the field coaching the next generation of top performers, Brenda recharges by working on home updates, gardening, and spending time with her new Boston Terrier fur baby.
