Curt Eichelmann believes that in a world dominated by digital noise, nothing replaces the power of a personal connection. Since joining Guide Book Publishing in 2000, Curt has risen from Account Executive to Director of Sales, now overseeing operations across 26 states. His “secret sauce” for GBP’s enduring success is simple: provide a usable, hyper-local product that remains affordable for small businesses and indispensable for families.
With an MBA from Webster University and certifications from both Dale Carnegie and Sandler Sales, Curt coaches his team to be more than just “ad people”—he trains them to be business consultants. “An MBA provides the big-picture view of how a business fits together,” Curt notes, “but the most important lesson is time management.” He leverages modern AI tools to streamline research, allowing his reps to spend less time behind a screen and more time building relationships with customers.
Curt’s leadership style is defined by a “Coach” mentality. Whether he is leading the full team in weekly Zoom strategy sessions or providing one-on-one “pep talks” from the field, he ensures no rep feels like they are on an island. His philosophy is rooted in real-world experience—from getting contracts signed on trash cans at construction sites to navigating the nuances of multi-state regional markets.
An avid athlete who plays softball and indoor soccer, Curt is a firm believer in the work-life balance required to prevent burnout and maintain peak performance. When he isn’t leading the sales force, he enjoys time with his son and their two dogs, bringing that same energy and dedication to his family and community.
